A Life More Ordinary

Merry Christmas Cookies

Posted on: December 8, 2012

Every year since Henry’s been around I’ve tried to make my family’s much cherished “Merry Christmas Cookies” but due to PPD, toddling, health and fatigue issues and moving across an ocean I have been unable to complete the task. That is, until (I think) this year. Mind you, I’ve gotten this far before, but considering the date, and the age of my child, I feel pretty good about making it to the finish line.

Of all the things I’ve encountered in the past, all the obstacles that have kept me from completing this highly rewarding but at times very labour intensive task, this year is the simplest, yet most frustrating of them all. Red crystal sugar. It doesn’t exist. Or if it does it’s not in the usual places. I still have time. I am determined to make this happen.
